We are proud to present to you MURENGA - a political sci-fi thriller set on a futuristic planet based on southern African coral landscapes. It's themed around how AI technology can be abused by tryannical governments to control minority peoples and use the idea of 'fixing' peoples' mental health and social non-conformism to change who they actually are.
Sound good? Of course it does! It's written by Nyasha Mugavazi, who was the editor on Kokou, and the character designs were all done by Jasonas Lamy, who was the artist on Nani!
We would really, really love it if you would check out the campaign - we've put our hearts and souls into making it work, and we can't wait for people to read it. We're absolutely certain it's the best Kugali comic yet.
Update on the art prints

Hi Backers !
We are excited to see that many of you have been getting their rewards earlier than expected and we hope you’ve enjoyed Kokou, and for those who are yet to receive them you’re in for a treat!
Unfortunately, we are aware that there have been some issues with the way the art prints have been packaged leading to them getting damaged. We are currently in touch with our fulfilment partner to make sure we understand this situation and to avoid anything of the sort happening in the future.
If there are any issues with your rewards, please contact us at our email: [email protected] with photos of the damaged products and we will be sure to send out a replacement in a timely manner.
Please be aware that these replacements might take some time to be dispatched due the holiday season, but we will be doing our best to get these out to you as soon as possible.

Hi Backers,
First of all, we wanted to wish you all a very happy holiday season from the whole Kugali family.
Secondly, we have some exciting news regarding reward fulfilment: all rewards are on track to be sent out by the 15th of December. This means that you can expect the rewards to arrive on-time just after Christmas or in the new year.
We have also reviewed all the feedback from the surveys on the distribution of the digital copies and decided that the digital content for this campaign will be sent out via our Backerkit platform as a PDF for everyone to read. We know many of you are looking forward to the Kugali app, but we want to bring you the best product possible, so we’ll need a little longer! We’ll update you when we can.

Hi backers!
It’s been a hot minute! We have some VERY exciting news for you guys.
First off, the creative team behind Kokou have wrapped up the comic! They have done some amazing work and we cannot wait to share it with all of you. For now, we are pleased to share with you the cover of our softcover format.
In other good news, we are on track to ship out the rewards in the first half of December, expected shipping date is December 15th. Due to it being a peak season we assume most rewards will arrive at the end of the month or in early January.
This means you will have until November 24th to update your shipping address, after which your address will be locked, and no changes will be able to be made.
This is all we can tell you for now but watch this space – cool things are coming and you are all in for a treat!

Please note that if you have pledged to the campaign using your AppleID but haven't completely set up your Apple Pay account you might not be receiving emails from Backerkit. Please reach out to us so we can update your backer information with your preferred email address.
